Joints, Ligaments, Tendons, and Cartilage

        Bones are connected to each other by ligaments.
        Bones are connected to muscles by tendons.
        The place where two bones meet is called a joint
        
There are many different types of joints.

                 Immovable Joint - Does not move
                       Skull
                 Hinge Joint - Move in one direction only, like a door hinge
                       Between the bones in your fingers and toes
                       Elbows
                       Knees
                 Ball and Socket Joint - Can move in any direction
                       Shoulders
                       Hips
                 Pivot Joint - Side to side movement
                       Neck (base of skull)
                 Gliding Joint - Allows bending and twisting
                       Wrists
                       Ankles
         Your nose and ears are not made of bone.
         They are made of cartilage, a flexible substance that is not as hard as bone.
